Fortune Brass is a Canberra-based brass ensemble comprised of musicians from a diverse range of backgrounds including freelance classical and jazz performers, music teachers, musicians of the Royal Military College Band and even a music librarian!
We are a flexible brass ensemble that can meet the needs of any music event - from fanfares, brass trios, quartets or quintets to trumpet and brass ensembles. We can provide music to suit any occasion, such as weddings, corporate events and choral concerts.
Currently we are focusing on promoting trumpet ensemble repertoire, ranging from baroque, folk, contemporary, modern, jazz ballad as well as jazz/funk music with rhythm section.
We have recently begun a series of Sunday afternoon concerts at Canberra's favourite pub, the Wig and Pen.
We are keen to share our music with as many people as we can and are exploring funding opportunities in order to perform at festivals, undertake regional tours, educational concerts and even international tours. It's an exciting time for brass music in Canberra!
